Team building is perhaps the most important skill your Service Team/ Neighborhood/ troop will develop (or fail to develop) throughout the Girl Scout membership year. Teams who thrive operate under a high sense of loyalty, focus, and collaboration while those operate haphazardly tends to fall apart. Team building is important to Girl Scout leadership because without it, girls can fall through the cracks and as in all things with Girl Scouting, the primary focus is the girls.
What is team building?
Team building is the process of motivating and enabling a group of people to reach their goal. This is an “inside job.” A trainer or a motivational speaker or a consultant can give you all the tips in the world, but it is truly up to the team itself to develop their sense of team and form that cohesive bond.
If you're having trouble with your team working together, you can contact your CMC and arrange a Team Building Training.
