Membership Information  

Girls of all walks of life have found adventures and amazing memories as a Girl Scout. Our members of the lifeblood of our organization and we believe that the opportunity should be available for every girl. There are two requirements for membership for girls. The first is that a girl's membership fee of $10.00 be paid and we do provide financial assistance for those show a need. The second is that the girl be willing to adhere to the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

The Thousand Islands Girl Scout Council's girl membership consists of five program levels:

  • Daisy Girl Scouts..........ages 5-6 or Pre-kindergarten through Grade 1
  • Brownie Girl Scouts......ages 6-8 or grades 1-3
  • Junior Girl Scouts.........ages 8-11 or grades 3-6
  • Cadette Girl Scouts.......ages 11-14 or grades 6-9
  • Senior Girl Scouts.........ages 14-17 or grades 9-12

For girls who want to join Girl Scouts but cannot commit to a full time troop, we do have our Girl Scouts By Mail Program available. This is a program for our Juliette Girl Scouts (formerly known as Independents) and is available to all age levels. To sign up for Girl Scouts By Mail, contact Lindsey Tupia.

Our 1,000 adult members - both women and men - include volunteer leaders, parents, Girl Scout alumnae, consultants, and staff specialists in areas such as child development, adult education, outdoor education, and administration. 

TIGSC's membership year begins October 1 and ends September 30.  Registration begins in the fall and continues througout the year. Contact a Community Membership Coordinator for more information.
