Indian River/ Fort Drum Neighborhood

Indian River/Fort Drum Neighborhood is considered a dual neighborhood. This neighborhood primarily serves girls in the Indian River School District except Theresa. This dual neighborhood covers Evans Mills, Felts Mills, Antwerp, Calcium, Philadelphia and on Post Housing.

Neighborhood Chair- Amy Beckstead

Indian River/Fort Drum Neighborhood's regularly scheduled leader meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month August-June.  The meeting is held at the Evans Mills Primary Cafeteria, starting at 6:00 p.m.

Working together, the volunteers in the Indian River Neighborhood provide innovative program opportunities through troop and Neighborhood activities.  Examples of activities include:

  • Bowling
  • Sledding
  • Caroling
  • Lock-Ins
  • Ice Skating

There are many active, exciting Girl Scout troops in the Indian River Neighborhood.  However, troops fill fast leaving some girls who want to be Girl Scouts on a waiting list.  We are looking for committed, caring adults who can give of their time.  1 hour, 1 month, weekly meetings, biweekly meetings, 1 meeting per month.  Whatever fits into your busy schedule fits Girl Scouting. Be a leader/co-leader/assistant leader, share a craft, share a skill/hobby, or share your administrative or organizational skills.   If you can make the commitment to mentor girls to grow to be strong, resourceful citizens, then we would like you to be a Girl Scout volunteer.

For more information on becoming a volunteer with Indian River Neighborhood, please call Cindy Yang at the TIGSC Service Center, 782-1890 or 800-491-1890 or email: cindy_tigsc@yahoo.com
