Some changes are in the works for the North Country's Girl Scout camp.

Camp Trefoil in the town of Pitcairn has been in operation since 1949.

Hundreds of scout troops visit the camp year round.

There is currently a $250,000 capital campaign underway to fund upgrades.

The biggest change will be the kitchen, which will have running water all year long.

"If you've never been to camp, you can't really understand what it's about. But once you've been here and spent some time here, you understand immediately," said camp director Kathy Bellinger.

The Thousand Island Girl Scout Council is currently accepting donations to pay for the upgrades.
