The Bridge Award recognizes an outstanding adult member for service to a Neighborhood.
Basic Criteria
- The candidate is a registered adult Girl Scout.
- The candidate has completed appropriate training for the position held, or has equivalent experience.
- The service performed by the candidate is of an outstanding nature in planning and directing an event, or shows outstanding and continuing commitment to the development of Girl Scouting within the Neighborhood.
Approval Procedure
An individual or group familiar with the service performed submits an application to the Coordinator of Volunteer Development and Support documenting the service to be recognized and the significance (results) of the service beyond that required for the position held. The Coordinator of Volunteer Development and Support reviews the nomination, approves or denies it, notifies the nominating group or individual, and forwards the approved application to the Adult Development Director. Form of Recognition
The Bridge Award is a pin showing a picture of the Thousand Islands Bridge. It is worn on the right side of the uniform, below the personalized identification pin or on either side of the Years of Service Pin. If an adult has received more than one special recognition, the last one earned is usually the one worn on the uniform.
Presentation
The Bridge Award is purchased by the Neighborhood from the Adult Development Director and typically presented at a Neighborhood event with the recipient’s peers.
