Our STARS Program

The TIGSC is dedicated to providing Girl Scouts to every girl who wants the opportunity. That's the reason we created our STARS Program.

STARS stands for Soaring Toward Achievement, Respect, and Self-Reliance. It is designed to give girls the tools they need for personal and professional success in our constantly changing society.

STARS helps participants gain self-confidence, develop self-awareness, learn effective communication skills, and enhance self-esteem.

TIGSC has carefully selected sites that we feel will provide an excellent opportunity for the STARS program to flourish. Three of these sites are low-income housing units in Jefferson County. The locations and times for STARS meetings are:

Every Monday at East Hills Community Center from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.

Every Tuesday at Brady Acres Community Center from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.

Every Wednesday at Maywood Community Center from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.

Every Thursday at Ohio St School in the Art Room from 3:00 to 4:30 pm.

Every Thursday at Evans Mills Primary School from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

Every Friday at Wiley School from 3:15 to 5:00 pm.

There are meetings every week unless there is no school , vacation, cancellations, [parent teacher conferences], etc......[if our meetings are at the schools].

Our Mission Statement:

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
